Additional information
These different objects were part of the creation / manufacturing process at Bully. Most were kept at the museum "BULLY MUSEUM" until 2005.
Many of these figures will never be produced by Bully because of licensing issues with Schleich.
The drawings were all made by Peyo.
The figures are all sculpted by the German artist Irmingard HIEBER-NEUFISCHER.
Manufacturing process (At each stage, if it is not appropriate, we go back one or more steps until the model is validated):
- Peyo makes a drawing of the figurine imagined, sometimes with different profiles and annotations
- Irmingard HIEBER-NEUFISCHER realizes a wax sculpture of the figurine
- This one is then painted to see the final rendering
- It is then made of resin via 2 molds, one for the front and one for the back. Some accessories have a separate mold.
- The Smurf is out of the mold, assembled, then painted. Sometimes, to save time, the Smurf stays in the mold and is directly painted, so only the front
- Once validated, we enter the chain manufacturing process with PVC injection molds
